Eggleston wins NASCAR Bill Schmitt Memorial at Shasta

ANDERSON, Calif. (May 30, 2015) – Chris Eggleston took his time, got in front and won the Bill Schmitt Memorial 150 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race at Shasta Speedway. Eggleston collected his second victory of the 2015 season and his third series victory in nine starts for Bill McAnally Racing. Eggleston and every other driver in the 24-car starting field raced on Goodyear Eagle bias-ply tires. Goodyear is the exclusive tire supplier for the K&N West and East series. The same line of tires is supplied for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. Those tires are manufactured in Goodyear’s Innovation Center in Akron, Ohio, the same facility where Goodyear builds the tires used for NASCAR’s three national series: The Sprint Cup Series, XFINITY Series and Camping World Truck Series. Eggleston passed James Bickford to get the lead with five laps remaining in the 150-lap chase around Shasta’s 3/8-mile oval. Bickford finished second, .705 of a second behind the winner. Johnny White finished third, followed by Gracin Raz and Buddy Shepherd. David Mayhew won the pole with a qualification lap averaging 85.050 mph. Mayhew led the first 92 laps. Eggleston’s victory gave him the lead in the West Series championship standings. He holds 209 points. Raz is next with 197. Goodyear employs about 69,000 people at manufacturing plants and facilities in 22 nations. Based in Akron, Ohio, Goodyear is among the largest tiremakers in the world and is the worldwide leader in race tire innovation.
