Heckert wins NASCAR Hall of Fame race at Bowman Gray

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (June 1, 2015) – Scott Heckert got in front, stayed in front and won the NASCAR Hall of Fame 150 K&N Pro Series East race at Bowman Gray Stadium. The victory was Heckert’s third in Series competition and his first win on an oval. Heckert and every other starter in the 21-car field competed on Goodyear tires. The Akron, Ohio-based tiremaker supplies tires for the K&N East and West circuits and for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. The tires manufactured for the three series are of state of the art, bias-ply construction. These tires cost less to produce than radial tires and the savings is passed on to the competitors. Heckert started on the pole and led every lap. He averaged 51.001 mph for the 150-lap race distance around the Bowman-Gray quarter mile oval. His qualification lap was clocked at 62.305 mph. Dalton Sargeant finished second, .579 of a second behind the winner. J.J. Haley was third, followed by Jay Beasley and Gray Gaulding. William Byron leads the championship standings with 205 points. Austin Hill is next with 192. Goodyear employs about 69,000 people at manufacturing plants and facilities in 22 nations. Based in Akron, Ohio, Goodyear is among the largest tiremakers in the world and is the worldwide leader in race tire innovation.
