LOS ANGELES (June 3, 2015) – Veteran character actor SERGE HOUDE (When Calls the Heart, The Age of Adaline, 50/50, The Kennedys) signs-on for Barry Sonnenfeld’s new comedy, NINE LIVES.
The high-concept comedy revolves around Kevin Spacey (House of Cards) as a workaholic businessman who has to figure out how to redeem himself after a terrible accident leaves him trapped in the body of his family’s cat.
Houde steps into the storyline as a Company Board Member opposite Spacey and Mark Consuelos (Alpha House). The celebrated cast also includes Jennifer Garner (Dallas Buyers Club), Robbie Amell (The Flash) and Christopher Walken (Jersey Boys).
EuropaCorp is distributing, financing and producing the film from a script by Daniel Antoniazzi and Ben Shiffrin.
The announcement comes on the heels of Houde’s guest starring appearance as Judge Roy Parker in the season two premiere of the Hallmark Channel’s award-winning western drama series, WHEN CALLS THE HEART. The opener reached over 3.2 million unduplicated viewers, locking in the time period as the most-watched and highest-rated network among households and total viewers, outside of sports. Houde can also currently be seen on the big screen in a cameo role in the romantic drama, THE AGE OF ADALINE.
Houde has built a solid career in the industry with over 200 credits under his belt. Most recently, the veteran actor guest starred on AMC’s hit shows THE KILLING and HELL ON WHEELS and on the CW’s newest smash, iZOMBIE. He earned high-praise for his appearance as the volatile Mafia Boss ‘Sam Giancana’ in the mini-series THE KENNEDYS and his role as Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s Alzheimer’s stricken Dad in the Golden Globe nominated drama 50/50, also starring and produced by Seth Rogen.
Serge Houde is represented by Play Management.
