Think You Can’t Afford to Live a Healthy Lifestyle? Think Again. There’s a new kid coming to town on July 25, and his name is Tunie’s!

What in the world is a Tunie’s you ask?

Tunie’s is a locally-owned Natural Grocery and Vitamin Market that has been a staple in northern Broward County for more then 23 years. Tunie’s offers customers a more affordable option for natural products, as well as free health education for the community. Tunie’s is coming to Ft. Lauderdale and the new store is planned to open mid-summer.

This 20,000 square foot health food mecca will be located at the corner of Federal Highway and Sunrise making it easily accessible to Ft. Lauderdale residents. Customers will find a plethora of name brand products (over 30,000), similar to the offerings of Whole Foods and other natural products retailers, but at significantly reduced prices. Tunie’s stores carry only organic produce, sourced locally whenever possible , and an all organic juice bar. In addition the store will carry a variety of delicious and nutritious grab and go meals for Ft. Lauderdale shoppers on the run.

Tunie’s is a truly local business, owned by S. Florida natives since its inception and they have always believed in giving back to the community. All Tunie’s locations offer free wellness seminars on a wide variety of topics and nutritional counseling on a weekly basis. This tradition will be in continued in the new Ft. Lauderdale location.

With the new store opening Tunie’s is launching a new philanthropic effort that will support many worthy local causes and encourage sustainability. This program, “Tunie’s Makes Cents” invites customers to use their reusable shopping tote at the store and receive a 5¢ token. At the front of the store there will be a choice of four local charities from which to can chose to donate this token. Tunie’s will donate the amount received to the featured non-profits at the end of each quarter. New charities will be selected every three months so more of the many great causes in our community can be supported.

Tunie's Ft. Lauderdale Grand Opening is Saturday, July 25 . We know you must still be wondering about the name and it's a common question around town. It's a sweet and simple story, Tunie’s original owner Al Forman named the company for his Mother’s, specifically her Yiddish name, to honor his love for her and his family.
