Vegas-Style Stage Production Features Aretha Franklin’s Most Enduring Songs; Soundtrack CD to be released March 15

Orlando, FL (Feb 25, 2016) - Award-winning Entertainer CeCe Teneal is fulfilling a lifelong dream when she debuts “Portrait of Queen”, a tribute stage show to Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, on March 5, 2016 at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, FL. The show starts at 7 pm and it spans Franklin’s 50-year musical entertainment legacy. A soundtrack CD will be released March 15th and distributed through Goin’ Native Records of Orlando.

“As a child singing along with Aretha’s records taught me how to skillfully use my voice as an instrument, appreciate the art and science of creating a music experience, and exuding excellence in musicality,” said CeCe Teneal. CeCe’s presence and passion on stage contribute to a musical experience worthy of the Queen of Soul. Expect to hear her powerful rendition of classic tunes like Respect, Dr. Feelgood, Until You Come Back to Me, Say a Little Prayer and more of Aretha Franklin’s enduring hits.

“I want people to experience the music…the depth of these songs, the passion with these songs,” says Teneal. “I want them to leave the show feeling rejuvenated and happy.”

Teneal collaborated with the team at Goin’ Native Records on the tribute show, learning theatre production and the art of delegation along the way. A portion of the show proceeds will be donated to City Year, a national organization that provides support to inner-city schools in the form of tutoring, in-kind products and services, teacher support, technology resources, and financial contributions.

“I’m all about giving back to the community,” says CeCe, adding that residents of a retirement community near the theatre have been invited to attend the dress rehearsal for the show free of charge.

Cece Teneal has been an advocate for community-based arts and entertainment events for more than 10 years. She has perfected her vocal talent to become sheer artistry, and she has mentored countless accomplished and up-and-coming artists. Dubbed as the voice of the century by her fans and peers, Cece Teneal is a blues-centric soprano with a soul-stirring voice.

After singing in various venues throughout the region, Cece’s career was catapulted to new heights when she was selected as the lead singer for B.B. King’s Blues Club in Orlando, FL. There, she released her debut blues album, Train from Osteen, in front of a sold-out crowd. Cece has traveled the world entertaining lovers of blues and soul. She has had the honor of gracing the stage before Buddy Guy, Joe Cocker, Johnny Lang, Trombone Shorty, Fantasia, and the legendary B.B. King, to name a few.

As a child, Aretha Franklin was her reason for singing. Franklin inspired Miss Teneal with her stunning voice and captivating stage presence. This inspiration has motivated Cece to produce a complete Vegas-style tribute show in Franklin’s honor.
