3 Hauntingly Fun Halloween Happenings in Glenwood Springs
- Written by PitchEngine USA
Offering visitors both tricks and treats, Glenwood Springs is a frightfully fun place to celebrate autumn’s spookiest weekend, Friday, Oct. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 31.
- New. Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park’s Mountain Fall Festival wraps up on the final weekend in October. On Halloween from noon to 6 p.m. partake in hayrides, face painting, pumpkin decorating and trick-or-treating all day throughout the park. On the evenings of Oct. 30 and 31, from 6 – 9 p.m., events turn slightly spookier with haunted cave tours and Halloween games. Guests can also roast s’mores around the fire pits, indulge in handmade Freaky Fudge from the General Store and seasonal food and drink specials in the Lookout Grille.
- New. For those interested in an evening more glamorous than gruesome, attend the Masquerade Ball at the historic Hotel Colorado, a fundraiser hosted by the Glenwood Springs Rotary Club. The evening features a fine dining menu with dinner and dance music provided by the Symphony in the Valley orchestra and a guest DJ. The event takes place Oct. 30, from 6 – 10 p.m.; advanced tickets are $100 each and can be purchased at the Glenwood Springs Post Independent.
- Old fave. Be prepared to encounter apparitions of gunmen, gamblers, fancy ladies and pioneer settlers long since deceased on the annual Ghost Walk. Along with Doc Holliday, the outlaw Kid Curry likes to make an appearance. Hear their version of events along with the stories of other long-departed residents of Glenwood Springs. Tours leave at 7, 7:45, 8:30 and 9:15. Tickets are $18 per person and available for purchase through the Frontier Historical Society and Museum.
