LOS ANGELES (October 19, 2015) – Actor RAMSAY PHILIPS emerges less than faithful in the new Christian action-drama feature film, KEEP THE FAITH, premiering on October 21, 2015. Philips also appears in the upcoming feature thriller,FALSELY ACCUSED, and the festival-favorite comedy short, THE STICKUP.
KEEP THE FAITH chronicles the story of an ex-gang leader who comes to Christ years after the rapture and is persecuted in a Christian containment camp by his rival, a former drug dealer. Philips steps into the action as ‘Brother Johnson’, a pastor at the camp who is concerned more about his survival than his faith.
The film comes from award-winning indie film writer/director/producer Choice Skinner under his Darkan Entertainment banner. Philips was excited at the opportunity to work with the celebrated filmmaker, adding “Working on this project was amazing. It was a bunch of people who just wanted to make a movie. We didn’t know how it would get done but we knew that it would. And I want to thank Choice Skinner for allowing me to be a part of it.”
Coming soon from Spotlight Pictures, Philips steps-in alongside Rosanna Arquette and John Gries in the psychological thriller, FALSELY ACCUSED. Maria Pulera directed and co-wrote this film with Rayya Deeb, about a young woman who sets out to catch the killer of her brother after she is accused of the crime. Philips appears as ‘Jeremy’, a gun-loving roughneck caught in accusations of another serious crime.
Currently on the festival circuit, Philips finds himself in a robbery gone awry starring in the comedy short, THE STICKUP. When an upscale man (Philips) finds himself in a stick-up situation at the ATM, he transforms into a gangsta rapper to scare off the would-be robber.
Philips has been building a solid reputation on the indie scene since arriving in Hollywood. Philips shines in the popular comedy web series ROOMSHARE and THE LOONIES, as well as the celebrated short films ROOM 120, JACOB STONE and many others. He has honed his comedic skills performing improv at the legendary Second City Hollywood and stand-up at his hometown club Comedy Off Broadway in Lexington, Kentucky, where he was a finalist in their ‘Funniest Man of the Year’ contest.
Up next, Philips is looking to add the title producer to his resume and is developing a feature comedy that he wrote titled, BAR HAZE.
