Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania -- June 22, 2015 --Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer, in partnership with Red Card Cancer, Temple University and the Fox Chase Cancer Center, is proud to announce the first Futbol Friday for July 24, 2015. Futbol Friday is a day to celebrate soccer and raise awareness and donations for cancer research. Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer and its partners encourage everyone to wear their favorite soccer jersey on Futbol Friday, which coincides with Philadelphia's hosting of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup Third-Place and Final matches on July 25th and 26th. Donations can be made at EPYSA.org/Events/Futbol_Friday and at participating locations across Eastern Pennsylvania and beyond. One-hundred percent of all proceeds will go to Red Card Cancer and the Fox Chase Cancer Center at Temple University Hospital. "We are honored to be part of Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer's support for this worthy cause, which will help Fox Chase Cancer Center at Temple University Hospital continue to enhance and accelerate opportunities for life-saving cancer research that will lead to newer, more effective treatments and potential cures," said John N. Kastanis, FACHE President & Chief Executive Officer of Temple University Hospital. Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer will further promote the event through social networking using #FutbolFriday. The association will post pictures with participants wearing their jerseys. Everyone who participates is encouraged to make a minimum donation of $5. "Cancer has affected all of us in some way and too many from our soccer community," said Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Chief Executive Officer Chris Branscome. "This a way for the soccer community to give back." |
