Twitter announced the update in the midst of the BTS hashtag country competition event that started on 13th May. The current leader is Brazil, followed by Thailand, Turkey, Korea and Philippines.

The competition initiated by Twitter, includes a custom-made emoji for BTS, who are actively engaging with their fans all over the globe on Twitter. It is the first time that Twitter has designed a special emoji for K-POP musicians. BTS is very popular in the Latin American region. The keywords related to K-POP are on the Twitter Brazil's real-time trends every week. This week, the BTS hashtag event received special attention, and Twitter Brazil created a special Twitter Moment for the event. Twitter Moments is a feature that showcases headline events and related Tweet content in a single view, curated by Twitter's global editorial team.

To level up the competition, BTS wants to get an even more accurate "love" count from fans and has changed the official contest hashtag from '#BTS' to '#LoveBTS' as of 9AM, 27th May KST. Now #LoveBTS will be counted, while the Korean hashtag, #방탄소년단 (Bangtan Boys) will remain the same. Here's their official Tweet for the announcement.
