Chagrin Valley Realtor to Donate $500 for Every $1 Million in Sales to Flashes of Hope

When Karen Eagle received Howard Hanna’s highly coveted Very Best of the Best Award at the company’s annual recognition banquet, she knew it was time to fully implement the give-back program she had been dreaming of.

A top-producing Chagrin Valley Realtor, Eagle will donate $500 for every $1 million in sales to Flashes of Hope, an organization that captures uplifting family portraits of children with cancer.

“I was so thankful to win that award,” she said. “I am also thankful for the Chagrin Valley, its residents and all the opportunity and success I have found here. I wanted to share this success with my community in a consistent, meaningful way.”

In addition to receiving The Very Best of the Best Award, Eagle also received three prestigious awards from Howard Hanna’s corporate leadership at the February banquet:

·    National Sales Excellence Award

·    Quality Service Award

·    Champions Club Award

She also ranked fifth for the year ending in 2014 in the Pepper Pike office, which ranks as the top producing (and one of the most competitive) offices within Howard Hanna’s eight-state territory. Howard Hanna Real Estate Services is the top real estate company in Pennsylvania and Ohio, and ranks nationally as one of the four largest real estate companies.

While she would love to claim the idea to give back as her own, Eagle said the credit goes to a fellow real estate agent in her mastermind group.

“I heard about a West Coast agent who practices a charitable give-back program, and I knew I had to make this idea work here in the Chagrin Valley,” she added.

About Flashes of Hope

Flashes of Hope raises funds to accelerate a cure for children's cancer while honoring the unique life and memories of every child fighting cancer.

Founded in 2001 by the parents of a child with cancer, Flashes of Hope is a volunteer driven organization solely focused on children's cancer. With chapters in 55 cities, they photograph more than 50% of the children annually diagnosed in the United States. Since its founding in 2001, Flashes of Hope has photographed 43,830 children at hospitals and camps across the United States.

For too many families, the portrait is the last one they have of their child. Thousands of children are waiting for a cure while doctors are forced to use outdated and toxic treatments. Cancer is the leading disease killer of children yet childhood cancer receives only 4% of federal funding for research. In 2009, Flashes of Hope began funding research and has already raised millions of dollars through the Kick-program and other initiatives.

Flashes of Hope volunteers honor the courage of children with cancer, capture a moment in time and fund research so the children will have the chance to create a lifetime of memories.
